What are alternatives to dewatering with pile walls and well points? | |
I am trying to find alternative, maybe even new/experimental, ways to dewater a construction site for the purpose of constructing an interchange. The existing site has groundwater at the surface. Our consultant has recommended installing sheet piles and then pumping water out of the work area. Any ideas for other methods we can try?
Answers:
1can you wet-bore a hole and install a weeping tile/sump pump setup? Your foundation drain would have to be very large, your pump would have to be very high volume and the recapture rate of your well would have to be slow. What is your geo survey telling you about the prevailing geological formations?
